Congratulations to our logo design winner Harley K, who was presented with her prize this week, by BwD Deputy Director for Education and Schools, Michelle Holt.
Last year, the Safeguarding Children Partnership started it’s search for a new logo after moving back to a localised Blackburn with Darwen working area from the previous Pan Lancashire arrangements.
The Partnership wanted the children of Blackburn with Darwen to be a key part of how it works, and to be represented in everything that it does, so it asked local children and young people to help design a logo that reflects them and the role of organisations to work together to keep children and young people safe.
There were a high number of entries, from schools across the borough, and all were of a very high standard. The winning entry, picked by the Partnership Board, was praised for its vibrant colours, and the way the hands look to “hold the children safely”. Harley stated that she “wanted the hands to look like they were protecting the children and keeping them safe”.
The final design was digitised to be used on the BwD website, and the original is now used on all Partnership documents and promotional material.
The Partnership would like to say a huge thank-you to Harley for her design, and to all those who provided an entry for consideration.
