Learning from others is an essential way for us to make sure we are doing the best we can for our families here in BwD.

When the Department for Education updates us with learning from their experiences, we will review this and see how it can be applied locally to improve our services.

Learning Briefs form an important part of this process.

Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (LCSPRs)

• • Where a local authority in England knows or suspects that a child has been abused or neglected, the local authority must notify the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel if: (a) the child dies or is seriously harmed in the local authority’s area (b) while normally resident in the local authority’s area, the child dies or is seriously harmed outside England. If it is felt that a review is required, a Rapid Review will be initiated. If, after this has been completed, further review is required, a LCSPR will be commissioned, and published so as to share learning. 
  • Published Reports – When a report is complete, we will publish it here for 12 months, along with the learning. After 12 months, the report will be archived and available on request from the Business Unit.
